The Goals of the Solution

  • The Goals of the Solution:
Based on the identification of typical levels of toxic GAs in potato available on the market, to verify ways to reduce GAs in line with EC Rec. 2022/561/EU. The project will focus on the optimisation of growing and postharvest conditions with emphasis on preventing tuber greening and GA accumulation, in particular the appropriate spectrum of lighting using (IoT and AI). This includes light blocking packaging. A key component is the development and validation of a sensitive analytical method (UHPLC-HRMS) for monitoring all GA. The potato peel and plant agenda in biotechnology, materials development and technical environmental protection (e.g. filters, sorbents, remediation agents) links food security with the circular bioeconomy, precision agriculture and environmental innovation.
