The Goals of the Solution

  • The Goals of the Solution:
    The aim of the project will be to develop devices designed for advanced medical administration of transdermal drugs by means of focused ultrasound. At present, the vast majority of drugs are administered orally or parenterally, most often by injection or infusion. These routes of administration are associated with drug degradation by the first-pass effect, problems with topical drug application, systemic patient burden, economic inefficiency and increasing environmental burden of drug residues. Targeted topical administration of the drug to the skin can solve this problem. The aim of the project is therefore to develop such devices that will allow the passage of the drug through the skin and its local application with a focus on the application of anti-inflammatory and vasodilatory drugs.
