The Goals of the Solution

• The Goals of the Solution:

  The aim of the proposed project "ProBee V: Intelligent System for Monitoring Short-Term Phenomena in Bee Colonies" is to develop and bring to market an intelligent monitoring system technology for the effective monitoring of short-term phenomena in bee colonies, such as swarming or robbery, and the early detection of the invasive insect predator – the Asian hornet (V. velutina). The development of the technology is based primarily on a comprehensive approach to data collection, which will be used to develop and optimize the technology, and on obtaining more detailed information about the defensive behavior of bees in the presence of V. velutina, which will facilitate the identification of effective monitoring markers applicable in the technology. It will also include a regional monitoring function that will allow the aforementioned phenomena to be tracked and the occurrence of Asian hornets in certain areas to be analyzed. This will be crucial for state administration, local authorities, and beekeeping associations seeking to coordinate protective measures and inform the public. The information may also be useful for scientific and research purposes.
