Workshops for ERC grant applicants in 2025
The Prague Technology Center and the Expert Group for ERC Call Support are preparing a series of activities for ERC grant applicants for 2025. Based on last year's experience, we have decided to make several changes in 2025 regarding both the schedule of preparatory workshops and the conditions for acceptance.
As in the previous year, the workshops will focus only on the Starting and Consolidator categories. In addition to online registration, it will be necessary to send the CV and track record of the proposer and the abstract of the project under consideration. Applicants will be accepted on a first come, first served basis. However, compared to last year, we are tightening the criteria for accepting participants into the support system. If the materials provided are of low quality or the applicant's profile does not comply with the ERC rules and does not use the full four pages of text, the organizers reserve the right to reject such applicants. Due to the high level of interest in participation, it will not be possible to provide individual feedback to unsuccessful candidates.
We also note the change in workshop dates. The first two workshops, which were held in May and June in previous years, will now be brought forward to April and May. The most significant changes will be made to the third workshop, which will be newly divided into two phases according to the grant category. While the last workshop for Consolidator applicants will continue to be held in September, the final workshop for Starting applicants will take place in June. We want to provide applicants with enough time to finalize their grant application and incorporate expert feedback before the call deadline.
Therefore, we would like to remind applicants from the Starting category that the deadline for submitting the most complete part of B1 is the end of May 2025, which is a necessary condition for participation in the third workshop. We believe that this change will contribute to increasing the success rate of applications in the Starting category.
The expected schedule of workshops in 2025 is as follows:
- Registration opens: 10 March 2025, 12:00
- Registration closes: 30 March 2025, 23:59
- Workshop 1: 15, 16 and 17 April 2025
- Workshop 2: week 12-16 May 2025
- Workshop 3 for Starting applicants:
- Submission of B1: end of May 2025
- Feedback: week 23-27 June 2025
- Workshop 3 for Consolidator applicants:
- Submission of B1: end of August 2025
- Feedback: week 22-26 September 2025
