The Faculty Joins a European Project Focused on Innovation in Organic Food

At the end of September, the Faculty of Organic Agricultural Sciences at the University of Kassel in Witzenhausen, Germany, hosted the kick-off meeting of the Horizon project InnOFoodLabs – Pioneering Innovation in Organic Food Across Europe.

The InnOFoodLabs project focuses on innovations in the processing and distribution of organic food and aims to support the implementation of the European Farm to Fork Strategy. In addition to research institutions, the project strongly involves practitioners and includes a network of twelve Living Labs across nine European countries, where 23 innovations are being developed and evaluated. The four-year project, officially launched on September 1, 2025, is coordinated by the Swiss Research Institute of Organic Agriculture (FiBL).

The Czech Republic is represented in the consortium of 20 organizations from ten EU countries by both practitioners involved in the national Living Lab and the Faculty of Agriculture and Technology of the University of South Bohemia in České Budějovice. The faculty team is led by Assoc. Prof. Moudrý from the Department of Agroecosystems, who also serves as the national coordinator of Living Labs. The team also includes experts in the processing and marketing of agricultural products, bringing valuable expertise in the field of sustainable agriculture.
