Faculty at Czech Food Expo 2026

The Faculty of Agriculture and Technology of the University of South Bohemia in České Budějovice (FATUSB) has traditionally been an exhibitor at the Czech Food Expo, the national food fair. This year was no exception, and visitors could once again find its stand in Hall T1 at the České Budějovice Exhibition Centre.

Visitors had the opportunity to purchase and taste products made at FAT and at the Faculty of Fisheries and Protection of Waters (FFPW). The flagship product was traditionally the “Čtyrák” beer from the faculty brewery, which was established in 2016 in cooperation with the national brewery Budějovický Budvar. The beer is brewed under the supervision of master brewer Vlastimil Nohejl, a graduate of FAT USB, and is regularly awarded prizes at tasting competitions.

Visitors could also purchase products developed at the Department of Food Biotechnologies and Quality of Agricultural Products. Its staff have long focused on improving the quality of food products, for example by modifying recipes or enriching products with health-promoting substances, including antioxidants.

During the fair, the stand was visited by a delegation led by the Minister of Agriculture of the Czech Republic, Martin Šebestyán, and the Food Ombudsman, Jindřich Fialka. The stand was also visited by the Mayor of České Budějovice, Dagmar Škodová Parmová.

We would like to thank everyone who visited our stand and hope you enjoyed the products you purchased. We look forward to seeing you again.
