On December 13, 2023, our faculty hosted a conference titled "Calf Nutrition and Rearing in the Context of Precision Agriculture". The event was organized by Ing. Luboš Zábranský, Ph.D., in collaboration with the Ministry of Agriculture, the Czech Technology Platform for Agriculture, and the Agricultural Association of the Czech Republic. Despite the approaching holiday season, the conference attracted significant interest not only from livestock farmers but also from students.
Distinguished guests delivered expert presentations, including MVDr. Vlastimil Filás, representing veterinary practice; Ing. Petr Brož, chief livestock specialist at Zemědělská Klučenice a.s.; Ing. Jiří Jelínek, a nutrition expert; and Ing. Vít Procházka from Eurofam Systems, who introduced innovative technologies in calf rearing. The event provided an excellent platform for knowledge exchange and contributed to advancements in calf rearing within precision agriculture.
The organizers are planning another lecture series for 2024, focusing primarily on calf nutrition and rearing practices tailored to the needs of farmers.
