Advanced AI Technologies in Crop Production

On April 8, 2025, the Faculty of Agriculture and Technology at the University of South Bohemia hosted a seminar titled "Utilizing Advanced Artificial Intelligence Technologies to Increase the Profitability of Crop Production in Practice." The event took place in the newly renovated Building M and attracted not only students but also academic staff from the faculty.
The keynote speaker was Ing. Jan Semrád from company Varistar s.r.o., who presented innovative approaches to variable rate applications in field crop cultivation. He explained how the smart integration of data from remote sensing, soil analysis, and information collected by harvesting machinery can be used to create accurate maps of the yield potential for individual plots.
Artificial intelligence plays a key role in this process by enabling efficient evaluation of large datasets, thereby supporting more precise agronomic decisions and greater economic efficiency.
The seminar was attended by 25 participants, and it concluded with a lively discussion that reflected strong interest in modern technologies and their practical applications in agriculture.
The renovation of Building M was financially supported by the following projects:
