About the programme

The Master's degree program Multifunctional Agriculture is based on a broader concept of agriculture, where agricultural companies combine agricultural primary production, environmental protection and other activities, such as processing products on the farm and selling them, agrotourism or some aspects of social farming. The study program is primarily aimed at foreign students and is taught in English. With regard to the two basic areas of countries from which students will establish themselves, it has a broader focus. At the first in case of full study is designed to provide students with sufficient information for agricultural production and management of the agricultural landscape. Emphasis is also placed on competences the work with literature and the ability to solve specific problems. For the second, the Multifunctional Agriculture will provide students of the ERASMUS+ exchange programme with a thematically comprehensive semester of education. Students can choose one or more semesters, depending on the orientation of study at the home university.

Programme structure

The study program is primarily aimed at foreign students and is taught in English. With regard to the two basic areas of countries from which students will establish themselves, it has a broader focus. It is designed to provide students with sufficient information for agricultural production and management of the agricultural landscape. Emphasis is also placed on mastering the work with literature and the ability to solve specific problems (not all information from the Czech Republic is relevant, for example, for the Mediterranean countries). Furthermore, the program is designed to provide students of the ERASMUS + exchange program with a thematically comprehensive semester of teaching. Students can choose one or more semesters, depending on the orientation of study at the home university.

Graduate profile

    The graduate of the study program Multifunctional Agriculture prepares the theoretical basis, practical knowledge and a broader view of the relationship between conventional and organic farming and sustainable development of regions. He understands agriculture not only as a basic means of production of food commodities, he also completes subjects leading to the diversification of activities on the farm - the basic principles of organic food processing, agrotourism or the possibility of involving disadvantaged groups (social agriculture). In general, the graduate is prepared for management and decision-making activities at the level of middle and higher management sections of agricultural production, processing companies or related services. In addition to primary production, the key areas of their implementation are also consulting, administrative control activities in the area of production, processing and distribution of regional foods. Last but not least, the graduate can apply research and education.

How to apply

Without entrance exams (based on the results of studies in the bachelor's degree). To proof of English language proficiency at B2 level by international certificate or from previous study. Does not apply to students from countries where English is the official language. Instruction on how to apply
