The Goals of the Solution
-
The Goal of the Solution:The project aims to develop innovative methods for quantifying ammonia emissions from pig and poultry farms using various abatement best available technologies (BAT). Based on advanced statistical analysis of data measured in stables, methodologies will be further developed to quantify ammonia emissions when two or more of these BAT techniques are used simultaneously on a farm. The new methodologies will enable more accurate monitoring of emissions, support environmental policy making and contribute to reducing the environmental burden from livestock production. The project's outputs will be utilised by the Ministry of Environment and other public authorities as a basis for implementing European legislation. The project also includes educational activities for students.
