The Goals of the Solution

  • The Goals of the Solution:
The main objective of the project is the transfer of biotechnological and molecular methods and into practical breeding, modification of existing breeding programmes in oil crops and legumes and streamlining of the new breeding process. The innovation of the breeding programmes consist in the introduction of molecular techniques for rapid and accurate identification of donors of resistance genes to viruses and fungal diseases in pea; resistance to anthraconase in faba bean and lupin; and resistance to clubroot and foma in rape resistant breeding programmes. Also the introduction of in vitro androgenesis technology in rape breeding programmes will be output of this project.
  • Keywords:
pea; faba bean; lupin; rape; in vitro biotechnology; plant breeding; doubled haploids; DNA markers; genomics and transkriptomics; phenotyping; genotype selection; resistance; genetic resources; agrobiodiversity
