Workshop: Upcoming technologies in cattle breeding

On Wednesday, November 9, 2022, the School Farm of the Secondary Agricultural School in Písek hosted a workshop on Emerging Technologies in Dairy Cattle Farming.
A diverse group of speakers, including representatives from the University of South Bohemia in České Budějovice, Agrosoft Tábor, DeLaval, ISB Genetic, and the management of the Secondary Agricultural School in Písek, provided a broad spectrum of insights into dairy farming and the latest technologies being implemented in the field.
This enriching workshop aimed to familiarize students of the Secondary Agricultural School with modern technologies currently used in dairy cattle farming.
The event began with an opening speech by a representative of the Agrarian Chamber, emphasizing the importance of technological advancements in the industry. This was followed by a brief introduction to the activities of the school farm by Ing. Procházka, who, together with Ing. Luboš Smutný, Ph.D., introduced a planned collaboration on a project aimed at bringing students hands-on experience with a modern, robotic milking system.
Following the introductory session, a series of presentations provided attendees with the latest insights into the field. The workshop concluded with a tour of the dairy cattle barn, where discussions on future collaborations took place.
