From July 30 to August 8, 2025, the Faculty of Agriculture and Technology of the University of South Bohemia hosted Prof. Hsien-I Lin from the National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University, Institute of Electrical and Control Engineering, Hsinchu, Taiwan. Professor Lin leads the Human-Centered Robotic and Automation Laboratory and specializes in applying advanced technologies to improve manufacturing processes—particularly in the fields of machine learning and vision, large language model development, collaborative systems, robotics, and mechatronics.
During his visit, he met with staff from the Department of Technology and Cybernetics, with whom he is collaborating on the joint research project Sustainable Farming: Energy-efficient UAV Technologies for Precision Agriculture.
The program also included a seminar with PhD students focused on the use of advanced technologies in precision agriculture. Students presented their research areas and current results, receiving valuable feedback to support their further scientific work.
Discussions also addressed possibilities for further cooperation—including innovative research topics, joint publications, and exchange opportunities for both students and staff.
