On Friday, June 12, the Faculty of Agriculture and Technology of the University of South Bohemia in České Budějovice welcomed a delegation from the Korean Rural Community and Agriculture Corporation. The visit took place as part of a study tour focused on smart farming, modern agricultural technologies, and rural development in European countries.
The delegation was welcomed by the Dean of the Faculty, Assoc. Prof. Petr Bartoš, and the Vice-Dean for International Relations, Marek Šulista. They introduced the guests to the faculty’s activities, its educational and research programs, and current trends in the development of Czech agriculture.
The professional program included presentations of modern technologies used in agricultural and technical disciplines. Particular attention was paid to the principles of precision agriculture, the digitalization of agricultural production, and the use of advanced tools for more efficient and sustainable farming practices.
A practical demonstration of drone applications in agriculture attracted significant interest from the Korean experts. Members of the delegation learned about the use of drones for crop monitoring, application of plant protection products, data collection, and crop health assessment. Discussions also focused on experiences with implementing smart farming technologies across different agricultural conditions and on opportunities for further development of these systems.
