Teachers from the Secondary School of Ecology and Food Technology in Veselí nad Lužnicí Visited FAT USB

On Monday, 29 June 2026, the Faculty of Agriculture and Technology of the University of South Bohemia in České Budějovice (FAT USB) welcomed a group of teachers from the Secondary School of Ecology and Food Technology in Veselí nad Lužnicí. The delegation was led by the school's principal, Ing. Ladislav Honsa, and the visit aimed to introduce the participants to the faculty's study opportunities and facilities.
The guests were welcomed by the Dean of the Faculty, Assoc. Prof. Petr Bartoš. After that, the faculty and its study programmes were presented. The teachers then visited several departments, where they learned about teaching activities, research projects, and the modern laboratory facilities available to students.
The programme included visits to the Department of Agricultural Products' Quality, the Department of Applied Chemistry, the Department of Agroecosystems, and the Department of Genetics and Biotechnologies. At each department, visitors were introduced to ongoing educational and research activities, including projects in which graduates of the Veselí nad Lužnicí school who continue their studies at FAT USB are actively involved.
The visit concluded at the Research and Educational Microbrewery of FAT USB. The tour was led by the brewery's head brewer, Ing. Vlastimil Nohejl, together with his colleague Bc. František Čechmánek. Both are graduates of the Secondary School of Ecology and Food Technology in Veselí nad Lužnicí, demonstrating a successful pathway from secondary education to university studies and professional practice.
