As in previous years, the food product competition "Chutná hezky. Jihočesky." was also held this year, where one of the competition categories was beers with an exhibition of up to 10,000 hl/year. In this category, our academic beer ČTYRÁK 14° – Strong dark lager – also participated in the competition.
In the traditionally large category (South Bohemia is one of the very strong brewing regions, which is due, among other things, to history and the tradition of brewing law is manifested by a great interest in the production and, of course, the consumption of various types of beer), beer from the Microbrewery of the Faculty of Agriculture and Technology of the University of South Bohemia in České Budějovice did very well. The expert jury awarded it 1st place in the given category. During the announcement ceremony, which took place as part of the Czech Food Expo at the České Budějovice Exhibition Centre on May 12, 2023, the Microbrewery of FAT USB was drawn as one of the winners, which received financial support for the marketing promotion of the product in the media.
