On November 14, 2024, the Bavarian town of Waldkirchen hosted the ceremonial announcement of the Best Beer Awards 2024 results. This competition, organized by an agency supporting cross-border cooperation between the regions of the Czech Republic, Austria, and Germany, took place in July this year. Representatives of small breweries from all three countries participated in the event.
Our faculty was represented in the competition by the academic beer ČTYRÁK 12° Pale Lager, brewed at the Research and Educational Microbrewery of the Faculty of Agriculture and Technology, University of South Bohemia. This beer captured the attention of an expert international jury, chaired by Professor Sauer from the University of Passau. The jury awarded ČTYRÁK 12° first place, recognizing its quality and unique character.
The award was accepted by representatives of our microbrewery, Associate Professor Pavel Smetana and František Čechmánek.
