New publication maps the development of agroecology in Europe

The organization Agroecology Europe has published a new report within the Horizon research project focusing on agroecological initiatives across Europe. The publication concludes a series of three volumes that comprehensively map the development of agroecology in the European context.

The latest volume presents concrete examples of how agroecology is applied in different European conditions and demonstrates that this approach can significantly contribute to addressing current challenges faced by the European Union. These include, in particular, the restoration of biodiversity, diversification and stability of farmers’ incomes, and the revitalization of rural areas through short supply chains and territorial food systems.

The chapter dedicated to the Czech Republic was prepared by Assoc. Prof. Jan Moudrý from the Faculty of Agriculture and Technology at the University of South Bohemia in České Budějovice. He is also a founding member of Agroecology Europe.

The involvement of a representative from the faculty in this publication confirms its active participation in the international professional debate on sustainable agriculture and agroecological approaches, which are becoming increasingly important for the future of rural areas and food systems in Europe.
