Lecture by dr. Albert Treytl: IoT and Artificial Intelligence as a Connection to the Future

The Department of Data Sciences and Computing Systems of the FAT USB hosted Dipl.-Ing. Albert Treytl, an AI professional and the Head of the Center for Distributed Systems and Sensor Networks at the University of Continuing Education in Krems, Austria.
Dr. Treytl delivered an engaging lecture on the topic of Embedded Artificial Intelligence, which bridged two key areas of current research – the Internet of Things (IoT) and data processing. The lecture attracted great interest from both students and staff.
At the beginning of the lecture, the devices used in IoT were introduced in detail, such as various types of sensors and actuators. This was followed by a section focused on cloud-oriented, multi-layered architecture of IoT systems, which enables efficient collection, storage, and interpretation of data from a large number of sensors.
The conclusion of the lecture focused on practical demonstrations of image recognition algorithms that can be implemented directly on IoT edge devices. This technology eliminates the need for energy-intensive cloud systems, opening up new possibilities for the use of IoT in various fields of application.
