FAT Establishes Cooperation with Universiti Putra Malaysia

In the last week of February (February 24–28, 2025), Ing. Dagmar Stehlíková, Ph.D., from the Faculty of Agriculture and Technology at the University of South Bohemia in České Budějovice, undertook a business trip to Universiti Putra Malaysia in Kuala Lumpur. Her visit took place within the framework of the Strategic Development Projects Support Program and was primarily focused on tree disease monitoring and the exchange of expertise in the field of phytopathology.

This initiative resulted in the establishment of international cooperation, which continued with an official visit by Malaysian colleagues to our faculty. Representatives from the Faculty of Forestry and Environment met with the leadership of the FAT to discuss possibilities for future collaboration in the areas of student exchanges, joint research projects, and professional internships.

The visit also included guided tours of the state-of-the-art laboratories of the Department of Genetics and Biotechnology, the Department of Technology and Cybernetics, as well as an excursion to the university microbrewery, which impressed the guests as an example of linking science with practical application.

The developing cooperation marks another step toward strengthening the international engagement of the faculty and opens new opportunities for students and academics in the fields of science, research, and knowledge exchange.
