Children from the Mensa Day Camp Visited FAT USB

As part of this year’s Mensa Czech Republic day camps in České Budějovice, the children also visited the Faculty of Agriculture and Technology of the University of South Bohemia in České Budějovice. A morning full of experiments, discovery and meeting animals was waiting for them.
First, the children tried their hand at chemistry experiments. They had the opportunity to carry out simple experiments themselves and see what working in a laboratory is really like. They were not just watching – they got actively involved and discovered that chemistry is about much more than formulas and textbooks.
After leaving the laboratory, the group headed to the university farm, where they met farm animals and learned more about animal husbandry, everyday care and the role of livestock in agriculture.
The programme was prepared and led by Ing. Nikola Havrdová, Ph.D. from the Department of Animal Husbandry Sciences.
The children approached the activities with enthusiasm and curiosity, and we hope they left the faculty not only with new experiences, but also with some interesting insights into science, nature and agriculture.
