This year, the Faculty of Agriculture and Technology at the University of South Bohemia organised its first summer day camp for children. Over four days, the young participants enjoyed a varied programme introducing them to the worlds of science, nature, and modern technology through fun, hands-on activities.

The children visited the faculty's laboratories, where they conducted simple chemistry experiments, met animals at the university farm, and learned how to make their own processed cheese and ice cream in several flavours. The programme also included an introduction to hunting and wildlife management, an adventure game at the Academic Library, and basic outdoor survival skills.

The camp was led by Martin Šeda and Nikola Havrdová, with many faculty members contributing to both its preparation and delivery. The Academic Library and the university canteen MENZA also played an important role in the programme.

The inaugural edition received overwhelmingly positive feedback. Children and parents alike praised the diverse activities, excellent organisation, and friendly atmosphere. The successful debut has laid the foundation for what we hope will become a new tradition, and we are already looking forward to welcoming young participants to the second edition next summer.
