The Scientific Board is one of the self-governing academic bodies of the Faculty. The Board has been established under Act No. 111/1998 Coll., on Higher Education Institutions and on Amending and Supplementing Other Acts, as amended by later regulations.
The Scientific Board is composed of internal and external members, who are appointed to their positions. The Board is subject to the Rules of Procedures, with a binding effect on its activities. At its meetings, the Board addresses matters relating to the operations of the Faculty, e.g. draft strategic plans for educational and creative activities of the Faculty of Agriculture and Technology, University of South Bohemia, proposals for study programmes, applications for accreditations of study programmes and fields of study as well as fields of associate professorship and full professorship procedures. The Board is a venue for associate professorship and full professorship procedures and the Scientific Board subsequently approves successful candidates for appointment as associate professors or full professors. Last but not least, the Board gives its opinions as to other proposals put forward by the Dean.
