Honorable mention for participation in the JU Innovation competition

Prof. Samková and Assoc. Prof. Dadáková received from the hands of prof. Jiroušek, Rector of the University of South Bohemia in České Budějovice, and Assoc. Prof. Berec, Vice-Rector for Science and Research, Honorable Mention for participation in the JU Innovation competition for 2020-2021 for the innovation "Enriched yoghurt with increased protein content and plant antioxidants". The product was developed in collaboration between the Department of Agricultural Products' Quality and the Department of Applied Chemistry. The team of both departments and the dairy company AGRO-LA, spol carried out the development of this product. s r.o.

The product formulation is protected by a utility model and is currently being commercialised using the services of the Technology Transfer Office.


ENRICHED YOGHURT WITH INCREASED PROTEIN CONTENT AND PLANT ANTIOXIDANTS

It is a yoghurt with an increased protein content and the addition of a fruit component rich in plant antioxidants, especially vitamin C and anthocyanins, which inactivate free radicals and help to reduce so-called lifestyle diseases. This innovation won the 1st prize of the Food Chamber of the Czech Republic in 2022 in the 3rd annual competition in the category Students for Food Quality. In initial meetings with potential buyers, the response to the yoghurt recipe was very positive. Through the company Busyman we were connected to the company Faba Incube and the investor Mr. Martin Cierne.
