The election of a candidate for the Dean’s function of the Faculty of Agriculture and Technology of the University of Soth Bohemia in České Budějovice (FAT USB) for the period 2024-2028 took place on November 10, 2023. This election represents an important milestone for the academic community of the Faculty with their right to decide on the leading representatives and the institution's focus in the future. The unanimous vote of the academic senate of the FAT USB elected the present Dean of the Faculty doc. RNDr. Petr Bartoš, Ph.D. He won 15 out of 15 possible votes. The Rector of the University nominates the Dean according to the nomination of the Academic Senate of the Faculty.
The full support of the academic community allows doc. RNDr. Petr Bartos, Ph.D. to continue his mission in diversification and quality enhancement of study programmes, support of research and innovations and intensification of cooperation with other institutions and industry. This election represents continuity and stability for the Faculty which is a key factor in reaching a high level of education and scientific research provided at the Faculty of Agriculture and Technology of USB.
Doc. RNDr. Petr Bartoš, Ph.D., (44) is a graduate of the Pedagogical Faculty of the University of South Bohemia in České Budějovice and earned his Ph.D. degree at the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics of Charles University in Prague. He habilitated in 2013 at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering CTU in Prague in the field of Material Science and Engineering and started his work at the FAT of USB as the head of the Department of Agricultural, Transportation and Handling Techniques. He held the position of the Dean for Quality of FAT USB in 2017-2020. He has served as the Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture and Technology Since April 2020. He lives with his wife Ladislava in Lisov and they bring up five children. All his free time is dedicated to his family. He is interested in all matters concerning computers and computer science, likes reading books dealing with philosophy and theology and plays chess.
